As we get older, our bone mass and density decreases, in some cases it can lead to weak and brittle bones. This condition is known as Osteoporosis. There will not be any significant symptoms in the early stages of disease. Both men and women can get osteoporosis but commonly seen in women after menopause due to the reduction of estrogen level in the body.

Once you are diagnosed with osteoporosis you must follow strict diet and healthy lifestyle along with medication to reduce the intensity. You can also try the following natural home remedies for osteoporosis to keep your bones strong and healthy.

1)Exercise Regularly – Weight bearing exercise like walking, dancing, weight lifting are all effective in improving bone density and strength. So exercise regularly at least 30 minutes so that it can reduce the risk of breaking a bone.

2)Coconut Oil – Coconut oil contains antioxidant compounds, that have potential to maintain our bone structure. Coconut oil helps in absorbing two essential nutrition required to maintain our bone strength, Calcium and magnesium. We can prevent osteoporosis up to a level by intaking 3 teaspoon of coconut oil daily. The other option is to have a hot bath after massaging body with coconut oil. 3)Almond Milk Almond milk is a rich source of calcium and magnesium so it is a good remedy for osteoporosis. Soak 10 almonds in water overnight peel and mix them with one cup of warm milk. Add a pinch of saffron, cardamom and ginger powder to this mixture and drink it twice a day, before breakfast and bedtime.

4)Sesame Seeds Sesame seeds contains nutrients like zinc, phosphorus, magnesium, manganese, copper, and vitamins K and D essential for bone health . So include sesame seed in your diet. Either you can chew a handful of sesame seed daily in the morning or mix one teaspoon of it in one cup of warm water and drink it twice a day.

5)Fish Oil Omega-3 essential fatty acid and vitamin D content in fish oil increase the bone mineral density. Take 1,000 mg of fish oil supplements once daily with a meal will be enough to prevent osteoporosis.
